Testimonials![]() Name: Jo from Korea Age: 23 yrs
Location: small Aboriginal Community located 300km east of Darwin
Hello, I have been placed with a family who lives in a remote part of the Northern Territory. The community is isolated by flood water from monsoonal rain from December to April/May each year. The only way into the community during this time is by light plane. Once roads open Darwin is three hours away by car. This has been a very enriching experience for me and I have learned about Australian culture! I worked between 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday and in return I have my private air conditioned room, food and internet access and weekly pocket money. Once roads opened I had the opportunity to travel with my host family around Kakadu National Park and the top end of the Northern Territory. If you are looking for a true Australian experience - this is the perfect family for you !!

My name is YunSuk and I came from Korea and stayed with a family in Perth. I would like to thank you Nanny Australia for placing me with a great host family in Sydney. I had a fantastic time and spent 8 months experiencing Australian lifestyle. My daily routine was to look after two boys the age 2 and 4. I was looking after them from 6.45am until 9.30am and again from 2.30pm until 5.30pm Majority of my Fridays were off but the family was always very flexible and adjusted to all the plans I had.I am waiting now on my family to arrive from Germany as we will be travelling around Australia together.
Name: Saskia Age: 19 yrs
Location: Sydney & Countryside
My name is Saskia, I'm 19 and from Germany. I'm currently working as a nanny for the F. family. The family consists of Mom , Dad and two kids, girl (3) and boy (10). We also have a dog, Jessy, and a cat, Blacknose. We're living in Sydney, New South Wales, and split our time between an apartment in the city and a house in the countryside. The place where our house is is called Mount Vernon and it takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get to the city from there. My job revolves around Josie because Wills is at school most of the time. I work Tuesdays to Saturdays, approx. 40 hours every week. Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Monday are my days off which I spent on the beach, shopping or going out with friends. When we're in the city I take Josie to the park, the aquarium, the museum, the beach etc to keep her happy and entertained. At Mount Vernon it's a bit more tricky to find interesting stuff to do but there's definitly some fun things around. The house at Mount Vernon has a huge garden with a trampoline and a pool and Josie likes to ride her bike to the letterbox for example. On rainy days or just for a change I take her to an indoor pool, the shops or playcenters so it'll be for your own benefit if you know how to drive, it just makes the whole job a lot easier. Mount Vernon is a really really rural and quiet place. I just love the balance between life in the city and life in the countryside, but if you're not a person who likes the country you might not enjoy this job. You have to understand that Mount Vernon is not your average suburb with house next to house but is just really quiet and a big contrast to life in the city. However if you don't mind splitting time between the city and quiet Mount Vernon, if you're fun, outgoing and caring and want a family that'll treat you like their own and not just an employee then this might be the right family for you. I just love them so much and really feel like I'm part of the family. You're probably very excited for what's still to come for you but keep in mind that although this is a fun and exciting job it still is a job and not a holiday. Being around three-year-old Josie requires you to be responsible, energetic and patient. So make sure that working with children really is something that you enjoy and see yourself doing for a longer period of time. If you consider all that you might just have the time of your life in this family!:)
Name: Melanie from Germany Age: 20 yrs
Location: Sydney East
I came to Australia one year ago and didn't know what to expext. At first I was really scared that I would miss my family a lot but my host family in Neutral Bay made me feel really comfortable and they treated me like a family member. I loved to spend time with the 3 kids I was looking for and I think that I will miss them a lot, they became very important for me. In my free time I met a lot of other Au Pairs and together we visited Sydney's most beautiful places. I also improved my English because I had to speak English the whole time. My experience in Australia was great, I liked all the places and the people and would recommend it to anyone to go oversees and make this experience.

Location: Sydney North
We immediately clicked with the family. The family was so good and patient with me! I loved the 5 kids; they were just lovely cute and made the house lively, it was great!! We visited beaches, zoo, parks, friends and different suburbs and states, like Gold Cost in Queensland. The family allowed me to travel and take holidays. I had a chance to go to Melbourne and Tasmania! I was glad to be their au pair and glad I had this family to discover this beautiful country and their way of life! In fact I saw some difference between Canada and Australia!
